Product Description
The pMDDL2450 is a miniature OEM 2x2 MIMO radio module for the 2.4 GHz band, giving a drone or ground vehicle a long-range, point-to-point data link with the bandwidth for HD video and telemetry at the same time. It uses Maximal Ratio Combining (MRC), Maximal Likelihood (ML) decoding and Low-Density Parity Check (LDPC) coding to hold a link in difficult RF conditions, and its size and weight suit airborne and other size-constrained installations.
This module is an OEM board and requires a carrier to function as a data link. ModalAI makes two: a stand-alone USB dongle carrier for a laptop or ground station, and a Microhard add-on with USB hub for VOXL and VOXL 2. ModalAI does not support this modem in third-party carrier boards.
This listing is a single pMDDL2450 modem module. It has MIMO; the pDDL2450 does not, so the pMDDL2450 has the better range performance of the two.
